Hi, I’m Kayla

A little about my journey…

I am an online personal trainer, fitness and nutrition coach, content creator, and podcast host on Balance & Barbells.

My goal in everything I do is to help you become your best self through daily habits and routines.

I grew up playing soccer competitively from the ages of 6-18 and decided to take a break from sports and start a new journey heading into college.

But, in my first year of college, I felt lost in terms of how to stay healthy and fit outside of sports while struggling with acne, gut issues, and feeling “skinny-fat”. So I decided to get into weight lifting and really prioritize my nutrition, instead of focusing on fad diets and only cardio. Things I chalked up to genetics started to change before my eyes, and I fell in love with fitness and nutrition.

In 2016, I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and felt like I had to start over. I was losing hair, and dealing with hormonal issues, cystic acne, gut issues, and bloating. So I took a step back, prioritized my hormones, reduced high-intensity exercise, and focused on enough food while removing food sensitivities from my diet.

I believe that your progress and journey are never going to be linear. You will go through ups and downs and constantly be in a different phase in life. But your fitness and nutrition should change with you, through your daily habits and routines. I am passionate about helping women through these phases by identifying where they are at currently and building custom plans for them that allow them to reach their goals, from their starting point - without fad diets, restrictions, and unrealistic expectations.

My goal is to help you no matter where you’re at in your journey and provide the support you need along the way to create a healthy lifestyle.
